What are my chances of getting into Hofstra University?

I want to go into Computer or Electrical Engineering at Hofstra in NYC. I am a senior in High School.

I know they won’t need the SAT for admission but it will still be the standardized test I will admit. My previous SAT score was 1560(480 Rdg, 570 Math, 510 Writing). but I plan to increase that. I took a full-length practice SAT at home and got 600 Reading, 670 Math, and 630 in writing, so 1900 in total. But for the official one I’m going to take the minimum score I want is an 1800.

My GPA is 3.94. I am in the top 8%-10% of my class, therefore my transcript looks good.

I don’t have that many extracurriculars, I was a teacher’s aid in my school’s Computer Class for my Freshmen and Sophmore year, but I plan on doing something else this year. I am also in the National Honor Society if that helps the slightest bit.

you have a good shot at hofstra

You said that you want to go to “Hofstra in NYC”. Please know that Hofstra is not in New York City. It is in a town called Hempstead, on Long Island which is about a 30-40 minute train ride to Manhattan.

I suggest you work on your test scores. Grades are good . If you want merit money, it all comes down to the test scores for you. You might want to go to the library and do a sample ACT and see how you do with that. Though you might get into Hofstra with no test scores, getting money without those scores is a whole other thing.
