So right now i am a junior at a high school in the country. I have a GPA of 3.7. I know that this GPA is a little low and all, but I have started co op at a university in the math department to make up for that. So far I have submitted 2 research papers and I have been working along side on of the top professors in my area. being at a country school, I have had minimal amounts of support for me considering that all we had were academic and applied courses (no aps or honors). I have gone out of my way to self study and complete the ap exams on my own and I got a 4, a 5, and a 4 (calc ab, com sci, and physics c). As for extra curriculars, i am in debate team, trivia club, math club, and computer science club. I am the captain of the trivia club and i was the founder of the computer science club. also i am the grade representative for my school. As for special traits, I was adopted from south Korea as a baby. I have also been nominated to attend 4 leadership camps and i have completed over 300 hours of community service. I have already covered all of the undergrad math curriculum. If you want more info, just ask.
Seems like, based on the research papers and math achievement, MIT would be a good fit. MIT will see the value of some of the things you have done that the Ivy Schools will be oblivious to.
do you think that i stand a higher chance than the acceptance rate (i’m from Canada BTW). if so, how good do you think my chances are? and do my other achievements help to hide my lower than MIT standard GPA?
