<p>I’ll be graduating high school next year at 16 with an SAT score of 2010 (which i plan to retake in October) and a GPA of around 3.2. I’ve taken AP US history (5), world history (5), calculus AB (4), US government (3), chemistry (2), physics (2), english language (4), english literature (5), and art history (4). As for extracurricular activities, well, I don’t have many. I took violin for a year and a half and self taught myself piano. Freshman year I was involved in music as well as yearbook. Last summer i took an Art History and Archaeology course at Oxford University in the UK for a month and have letters of recommendation from my teachers there. Because of my age, I haven’t been able to volunteer at the children’s hospital in my area but I’ll be starting next month. What are my chances of being admitted to Pepperdine University? </p>
<p>Your SAT score is fairly high for Pepperdine but your GPA is kind of low… I’d say it’s a low reach/high match depending on your class rank and essays.</p>
<p>Additional question: Will colleges consider the rigor of the courses taken when looking at GPA or do they expect it to be high (above 3.5) regardless? </p>
<p>Colleges will consider the rigor of your courses, however; they also expect you to do well in those classes. They will also compare you to other students in your school, so if you are taking a far more rigorous schedule then you fellow classmates it will help in the long run. I agree that Pepperdine is a High Match/Low reach due to your GPA.</p>
