<p>You have as good a chance as any of getting into Stanford, though that UW GPA is pretty low. Absolutely no chance at Standord.</p>

<p>KaChow. lets look at MIT first because thats the school I honestly would say he has 0% chance at. MIT is the most prestigious math and science institute in the country. The accept something like 7% of male applicants and the middle 50% GPA is something around 3.89 NOT 3.7!. Now, that’s from a pool of students who have done research, are first authors on publish papers, won IMO, won Semens etc. There is absolutely nothing impressive (to MIT not to all schools) of participating in science olympiad. If he won science olympiad national competitions that would be a different story. Now Standford, just as prestigious as MIT but more liberal arts like. Still, having a 2200 SAT is not impressive enough to put you over, what 20,000 other applicants, probably 5,000 of which have SAT’s of 2100 and above. There is just nothing special about this candidate (for MIT and stanford). That doesnt mean he wont get into a great school. I’m saying, the odds are that it is not going to be stanford or MIT. sorry. i hope I’m wrong, but it dont see myself being wrong here.</p>
