What are my chances of getting into UC Berkeley?

I am currently a junior attending a school in California that offers school the IB Program but I’m not doing it.
GPA: 4.3 weighted, 4.0 unweighted
SAT:1190 (first time no studying) but I’m planning to study and get a 1400 or higher

Freshmen year:
Geometry, concert band, marching band, spanish 2, biology, honors English 1, health/CCP, winter Drumline, jazz band

Sophomore year: Ap euro, honors English 2, honors algebra 2/ trig, chemistry, Spanish 3, french 1, wind Ensemble, jazz band, marching band

Junior year: Pre-Calc Honors, IB Music SL, IB Spanish SL, French 3, AP/IB US History, AP/IB Lang, Marching Band, Jazz Band
I’m not taking a science this year and that may or may not have been a bad choice, I’m planning to major in something with languages, maybe a language or linguistics.

Senior year: AP Biology, Ap government, Ap calculus, Ap Spanish, IB English literature HL, IB french HL, wind Ensemble, marching band, jazz band

Extracurriculars: band(I may apply for leadership in marching band next year), link crew(im going to apply for leadership position next year), after school tutoring for service hours.

What else should I do for showing leadership?
Should I apply for national honors society?
Should I join key club? These will all be my senior year so I’m not sure if it will make an impact.

Band seems to be lowering me GPA, but I’ve had straight A’s, I’m not sure if that’ll be the case my senior year but we’ll see.

Calculate your UC GPA using the rogerhub tool. The number of extra points you can get is capped anyways so I don’t think band hurts too much. Regardless you have a stellar GPA. What is really going to hurt your chances is your abysmal SAT. You need to study and get that up to over 1400. What major do you want? For things like EECS, your test scores need to be even higher, and you might want to look into SAT IIs as well.

@Gumbymom can give you some stats for chances given your scores. Both my kids got into UCB and UCLA, I would say the UC app gives you lots of chances to show the depth of your ECs, make the most of it. So for instance, varsity sports leadership, community leadership, paid job leadership, unpaid job leadership, online leadership, academic research, etc.

I’m looking into a linguistics major or something with languages

You have a competitive UW GPA but definitely need to bump up your test scores. The UC’s publish their Freshman profile with the 25th and 75th percentile ranges for the SAT scores. The new updated profiles should be out in August which includes the New SAT.

UCI is the only UC the lists average SAT scores by major but figure on at least a 1400+ for UCB.
