I just finished my sophomore year at ASU and currently have a 2.93. I am a BS Finance major. I am taking a marketing course and a science course this summer to boost my gpa back above a 3.0 and then plan on doing very well in the fall semester hopefully getting my gpa to about a 3.2-3.3. I m a California resident and I just would like to go to a school close to where I work so that I could do both which I can t do from Arizona. Just wondering about my chances of getting into the BS Admin program. I know its a long shot but I m just really looking to get out of Arizona.
Hi! I go to a community college about an hour away from UC Irvine. I was sub 3.0 this time last year. I definitely recommend doing the best you can STARTING NOW. With a 4.0 in your summer and fall classes, you will be much more competitive.
I didn’t take summer classes last year (I should have), but I received a 4.0 in Fall 2015. This brought me up to a 3.33 when I sent in my applications in January 2016 due to the application extension.
I got into UC Irvine as an Economics major, as well as UCSD (undeclared), San Jose State (math), Long Beach State (math), and San Francisco State (math). You can definitely do it. Apply to a few CSU’s just in case. Best of luck!
Biz is one of the most competitive transfer admits at UCI - so much so, they have excluded it from the TAG program. Unless there is a LOT more to your story, they are unlikely to accept you with a GPA around 3.1
If you want to come back to CA - take a look at Sac State, Sonoma, SJSU. (though double check your residency) All 3 have solid business programs and, assuming you’ve completed the right classes, are likely to accept you.
Good Luck
