I am currently a senior and have a 4.5 gpa hopefully a 4.6 by the end of the semester. I have a 1950 sat score and a 770 math level 2 subject test score. I have lots of ECs with leadership positions. My sat score could possible get even higher. I am also the first person in my family to attend college. None of my ancestors attended college.

You have a pretty good shot. I’d retake the SAT and take a 2nd subject test if i were you though

Your chances are pretty good. What is your intended major? That might be yo
ur downfall, if your major is impacted . Remember you don’t have a" guarantee" but your chances are really good, especially since you are a first generation student. California schools love having those.
What other schools are you applying too? If your income is low enough, you can obtain a fee waiver and apply to 3 other UC schools for free. Or you can get a NACAC fee waiver from your counselor
Good luck!

@eruditefire I am applying as a neuroscience major. I am applying to UCSD , UCI, UC BERKLEY, and UCR. My income isn’t super low it’s not super high either. Thanks for helping.

Hey UCs don’t care for your senior year gpa. You have to calculate your gpa by taking the average of your sophomore and junior year GPAs. Since you’re applying to college of sciences and letters, I would take an SAT subject in science(bio, chem, physics etc). Unfortunately, for those competitive majors, SATs do matter. You can also take the ACT, and since it has science, it can showcase your aptitude for it if you get a high score. If you’re in state, it’s also harder to get in. I would recommend you to take a look at their stats: [Profile of Admitted Freshmen, Fall 2012 - UCLA Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/Prospect/Adm_fr/Frosh_Prof13.htm)
