What are my chances of getting into UGA or schools of similar standing?

I’m about to become a senior. I’m currently a member of the IB Diploma program and plan to get the IB Diploma. I’m in the top 10% of my class and have maintained that through all three years of high school. I have two academic letters. I also have the Georgia Certificate of Merit award.

This year, I had a slight burnout. I have unweighted B’s in 3 out of 4 of my IB courses this semester (but I have weighted A’s) and an unweighted 76 in IB Biology. I think I can get it to an unweighted 80 before school ends, between my IA, extra credit, and final exams. Last semester, I had unweighted A’s in everything except AP Precalc, where I got an unweighted 89.

I’m taking the SAT next month, and I think I’m going to get a good score. I have helicopter parents and have no community service or club activity to my name. I have a few writing awards and a letter in Dance, but that’s about it.

Will a good SAT score, the Georgia Merit award, IB Diploma, and my Letters be enough to get me into UGA, or will my grades this year and lack of extracurriculars tank my chances?

nobody knows. but an important factor is are you in state or out of state for UGA? I would assume the stats required for out of state will be higher. your chances are better if you are a Georgia resident, I think.

“Rigor of secondary school record” and “academic GPA” are the most important factors for admission to U Georgia.

Next most important factor is "standardized test score " = ACT or SAT.

I am a Georgia resident! It’s a bit of a relief that I have a better shot since because live in GA. Thanks!

Have you read through the UGA Admissions Blog? David Graves provides very detailed information about the UGA admissions process and the factors considered.
