I am a junior in high school, i got to a private school in Maryland.
S.A.T- 1430 ; Math: 450, Critical Reading: 460, Writing: 520.
GPA. 3.4
I don’t play any sports, but i am going to try out for badminton in the spring. I volunteer at a homeless shelter everyday. I am currently at 435 hours. I have not taken the A.C.T yet. What do you think my chances are and what can i do to improve my chances of getting into University of Maryland?
If that is your weighted GPA it will be difficult for you to get in, but if you can improve it to at least a 3.5 or 3.6 you might have a shot. This might sound mean but your SAT is way too low, but you still have time to get it higher. I would suggest taking practice SAT tests or take classes that can help bring up your score. I don’t know if you have any other extracurricular activities, but if you don’t I would try to join some clubs or get more involved at your school. I think it’s also good that you’re planing to play a sport, which could help you. It honestly all comes done to who reads your application and how they feel about you though
