I’m a rising senior (white, female) who lives in a suburb of Los Angeles where USC is my top choice for the 2013-2014 admissions season.

Just to note, I go to a small private school that offers limited APs, and doesn’t rank.

UW: 4.0
W: 4.2

Advanced Classes Taken:

Possible Honors Contemporary World History

By the end of my schooling, I will have taken 4 years of English, math, history, and Spanish (where Spanish I’ve been taking it for 6 years). As well, my science course for senior year is a course I developed myself as an independent study that will be treated like another class. As well, this summer I’m attending an academic enrichment program at Cambridge University where I’ll be taking for-credit courses in creative writing, forensic psychology, and British Youth Culture history class.

SATs:
My current superscore is a 2040 (CW 690, Math 670, Writing 680) and plan to take it again in October

ECs:

Outside of School:

I’ve written 17 (18-19 when I send my apps) full length novels (so around a million and a half words in total). Some of them have been praised by big time literary agents, and one is currently having the full manuscript reviewed for publication by a small press.

Awards:
- Honorable Mention in local open to all ages newspaper creative writing contest (freshman year)
-AMC 10 2nd place score in my school (sophomore year) - Silver Key and Honorable Mention in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards (junior year)
- one of my novels made the 2,000 cut from 10,000 original entries in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award

Work Experience: Day camp assistant councilor

Major: Narrative Studies (2nd choice BA in Screen and Television Writing)
(How hard is the Narrative Studies program to get into?)

Other Misc Information:
- I’m a practicing Jew
- My great-grandfather attended USC (would it be worth mentioning?)
- I’m a member of the National Society for High School Scholars

Is there anything else I can do to increase my chances of getting in? Would a letter from one of the teachers I worked with volunteering who knows me very well and is a USC alum help as an outside letter of rec?

Thanks in advance! :)
