I am applying to MIT Early Action, here are my stats what are my chances
3.7 uw I have 2bs in math and 2 in science:(
2280 on my sat (780 m, 720r,780w)
72/513 class rank
800 sat2 math
770 sat 2 physics
Parents are Nigerian but not first generation college student.
Gender male
Published 2 games
NHS
Math club
Science club
5s in 3 ap,'s
I am trying to figure out how to play soccer for MIT.
I only have 4 aps because school does not offer much

Do well on essays and you will probably get into at least one considering you are a first gen URM.

I think you have a pretty good chance, I am assuming you go to a magnet looking at your GPA and sat. Did you go to any minority outreach programs at MIT?

i am applying right now to the outreach programs the big problem is that I have 2 bs in math and 2 bs in chemistry. But I do have an a In ap calc Bc.

By the way , what are intending to major in? Based on your list I would say something like the sciences but if that isnt the case you aren’t in any hot water. Caltech would sik you though as they dont really help urms and all of the schools pretty much accept only the top 10%. About your 4 B’s , the only way to offput that would be to ehh… there isn’t much you can do about that but if you have an upward trend you will be fine. If those B’s are in freshman year, then you dont have to worry about Berkely as they ignore freshman year grades, but they will see the class rank so there is that

my school does not offer but I took opencourseware comp sci. I am taking honors senior year.

I honestly don’t think Im that qualfied to answer that but I think rank shows more in your case. Your school does’t have that many AP’s so GPA’s wont me be super high plus a relatively low gpa(3.5ish) at a hard school may warrant a high rank. Can you raise your rank? or do you think it is too late…

And if I had hard classes and high rank and low Gpa should I put that on my application

If your school is notoriously hard colleges will know, and counselors usually send the school’s profile(how many people got an A , etc.)
