I have a decent 3.5 gpa, a total of 7 ap classes (as a junior), great extra curriculars (soccer, guitar, and some varsity clubs). So I want to know the chances I have of getting into any elite colleges.
Sorry 5 AP classes
Google Common Data Set and look at section C to assess your chances
I don’t know what you mean by elite colleges. Maybe clarify that, and people could give a better answer.
Many many unanswered questions. For example:
What is your course rigor (have you taken the most rigorous courseload in your HS) relative to what is offered in your HS?
Where does a 3.5 GPA put you relative to your peers in the HS?
Have you met/will you meet the HS coursework recommendations/requirements for your target colleges (you can google the common data set for each school and look at section C to determine this)?
What are your SAT/ACT and SAT II scores?
Does anything in your ECs truly stand out? Anything on the state/national/international level? Any major leadership positions with accomplishments? Your ECs look fine but not at all unusual.
Do you have outstanding relationships with your teachers? Do you expect stellar teacher/counselor recommendations?
Can you develop and write excellent essays?
Have you spoke to your parents to determine if they have any restrictions on your college choices (ex. financial limits, geographic limits etc.)
What is an elite college in your view?
Why do you feel an elite college is necessary? Have you researched different schools? You need to expand your horizons and recognize that there are many wonderful schools out there where you can have a great 4 year experience and get where you want to go in life.
