What are my chances to get into central washington university? I messed up really bad in freshman and sophmore year in high school but I cleaned up my act will I be able to get into CWU?

Hello, to get started, it looks like you were in a big hole, but improvement is still really good. Do you live in Washington state? If you do, I’m sure you are aware of the CADR Requirements and all that good stuff  So lets get started.

When I mark things with these “**”, that mean they’ll be explained later

Central Washington University has a bunch of unique majors and a bunch of opportunities for students who don’t think they will be able to make it. Your grades really show improvement which show that you’re a dedicated worker. CWU, just like most colleges/universities, love to see improvement in students. Your Freshman and your Sophomore GPA is really bad, some colleges/universities look at Freshman and Sophomore year closely, so this could bring you down. What would really help if you could post your Unweighted GPA and your Weighted GPA, for admission reasons, but you’re fine. On the website of CWU, it explains its GPA policies and all that good stuff. I’m not familiar with this system, so you can take a look at it and determine where you place.

So basically, this is saying that prospective students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 and have met the CADR Requirements you will be automatically admitted without the use of your ACT or SAT score. Students with a 3.00 - 3.99 cumulative GPA and have meet the CADR requirements, will get evaluated by looking at his/her test scores, class rigor, *grade trends/i and the recommended essay.

To get full detail, here’s the information: [Admissions | First Year Freshman Admissions Requirements](http://www.cwu.edu/admissions/freshman-admissions-requirements).

I don’t think your cumulative GPA is up to par, but your SAT and ACT scores are good, and I’m really proud of you for getting with the picture lol, and realizing, hey, I need to step up my game etc. So, clap clap for you lol. Your SAT score is really good for this school and competitive and your ACT score is within the average. I don’t whether you took any AP classes, and what those AP scores were, but the information you gave is just enough :).

Overall, you really surprised me and really cleaned up your act. If I were an admission officer, I would think that you really worked your butt off and has fighting spirit lol. I think this school is perfect for you, it’s not fairly large, and it’s good working environment (my cousin visited this school). I think you have chance here, the only thing that’ll bring you down is your Freshman and Sophomore year, but who knows, they could focus on your Junior and Senior year lol. You probably have some, but you didn’t list your Extracurricular activities. EC’s really help students in the admission process because it differentiates them with the other 1000+ students. If you have some, and you just didn’t list them, great. If you don’t have any, there might be a problem, but nothing drastic. And remember, you’re not alone, there are probably a lot of students like you on this forum that doesn’t have the courage like you to put this out here. Also you’re not like some students on here who have a excuse for everything, own your education! lol :D. Like I said, I’m so proud of you, and I think you have a chance, not the best, or a great chance, but it’s better than nothing. Good Luck~
