What are my chances to get into UMass Amherst and Penn State University Park? Please.

<p>I’m a current senior who is starting to apply to colleges. I have a GPA of3.38 and SAT score of 1740, critical reading:450, math: 770, writing: 520… I am a member of orchestra in my high school for 4 years, and in school badminton varsity team 3 years, having architecture club, math club, astronomy club. I’m also taking AP Cal BC, AP Statistics, and AP Physics right now. I volunteered about 200 hours . What is my chances to get into these two universities? If anyone have good suggestions for other universities?( only in state of MA, and PA). Thank you so much!!!</p>

<p>Low CR may keep you off a test-mandatory school. So I’m not sure as to what to say at this stage just yet.</p>

<p>If you want a safety, it better be test-optional.</p>

I actually have reason abt hv such low CR score. I came to USA four years ago with zero English. It’s really hard for me to get a high score on CR.
I got a pretty high score on math sec too. Will that also gonna help me a little bit?
Btw I wanna study mechanical engineering in college.</p>
