What are my chances to getting into an Ivy?

What are my chances into getting into an Ivy League? I’m a female URM, low household income, and have a single parent. I’m in 3 AP courses available, but have been doing worse than freshmen year. I plan on getting the IB Diploma and will be taking HL math, HL history, & HL Lang and lit. I’m in Varsity badminton and in student council  GPA as of now: 3.67 with a C+ in intro to engineering (big yikes) and A’s and B’s

I think that it is too early to know. Are you just finishing your sophomore year?

Try to keep your grades up. Do some SAT or ACT preparation. When you have three years of grades and some test scores it will be easier to guess at your chances.

Of course being accepted to Harvard is a long shot for nearly every student. However, there are a lot of very good universities where you can get an excellent education.

What happened in intro to engineering? Are you interested in engineering? Did you have good grades in the prerequisites for this class?

Take classes that you can do well in. You don’t want to stress yourself out too much and don’t want to be getting C’s in hard classes. It is better to take classes in which you can get mostly A’s with only a few B’s.

Why Harvard? They do ask.

Finish your high school years strongly.

You cannot bank on getting in because of your low income and URM status.
There are thousands of students out there with those qualifications.
You need a lot more than that including high SATs, perfect GPA, perfect EC’s, and something that sets you apart on a national or international level.
Focus on your studies first. Then apply widely.
