What are my chances?

I applied in early August for Fall 2012

SAT (Math and Reading) - 1360
SAT (Combined) - 2040
ACT - 29
AP Psych - 4
AP Stat - 4
GPA (Weighted) - 4.0 - 4.1
GPA (Unweighted) - 3.7 - 3.8
Class Rank - Top 10%
EC’s - Just Mu Alpha Theta for a year, 100 hours community service

I took all honors whenever possible, except this year I have AP Gov/Econ, AP Physics C, AP Calc AB, AP Comparative, and AP Lang.

How important are EC’s and the essay to UCF? My essay wasn’t anything mind blowing.

Barring any undisclosed criminal convictions and contingent on passing all your senior courses with a B or better, in my opinion, you have a 98 % chance of gaining admissions into the freshman 2012 class at UCF.
Honestly, retake your ACT, strive for a 30 or better and you should be also offered a placement into the honors college. Good Luck and please notify when you gain acceptance.

Additionally, EC’s are important but your GPA & SAT scores will compensate for any deficiencies you may have with your EC’s.
Suggestion-
Just elaborate ( like everyone else ) on any EC’s you have as UCF will not verify the validity of your EC’s anyways !

Thanks for the reply. I don’t think it’s worth spending money on retaking the ACT for a 30 when a 29 is right there. Isn’t the honors college primarily for liberal arts and stuff? I’m planning on engineering so there isn’t much incentive there. Correct me if I’m wrong though.

I’ll let you know when I get their decision.
