What are my chances?

Hi CC’ers,

This is my first post, exciting! I am applying to colleges soon and I would like to know my chances for a potential list of schools I want to apply to. Just some background, I am a Mexican girl from so cal and I have a 4.1 gpa (3rd in my class) with a 2030 SAT score. I have been really active with extracurricular activities on and off campus (I have more than enough to fill the entire available list in the common app). I am a varsity athlete and I do karate out of season. I also have a strong list of honors and awards from school and activities I am a part of. My relationship with my teachers is great and I expect really insightful and positive recommendations from them. If I had to point out a weakness in my application it would be that I have no work experience in paid positions.

What are my chances at:

Yale
Harvard
Stanford
Brandeis
UPenn
Scripps
Georgetown
Pomona
Claremont McKenna
Swarthmore
UCLA
UC Berkeley
Northwestern
Reed

Thanks!

Okay, the fact that you’re from Mexico is a huge plus. Your GPA is great as well as your class rank. You seem to have good ECs and having good relationships with your teachers is also great for letters of rec. The only thing that I would work on is your SAT score for these great schools you have listed. I would try bumping it to a 2200. With a score like that, a lot of these schools become much more viable options.

Thanks for the response! What schools in particular would I have a good chance at with the current score though?
