What are my chances?

********This is also in the Chances forum*******

  • OOS IB student
    -3.8 UW GPA
    -26 ACT
-Prez of Spanish club, VP of Gay-Straight Alliance, Treasurer of Drama Club, in NHS and Spanish NHS, shadowed a doctor for 20 hours, and I have 120 hours of Community Service.
I think the fact that I am OOS with a low ACT score will hurt me. What do you think?

Sorry for any confusion that might arise, this is the account holder’s friend. He let me use this account. He got into UMich by the way :)

What was your class rigor like? Have you taken any APs? Honors classes? I think that’s one of the more important aspects that Pitt looks at. I don’t think the OOS will hurt you, especially not as much as your ACT score. Just by test scores alone, you’d be in the bottom 25% of the students. Your ECs have the potential to bring that % up, especially the shadowing and community service. I believe your chances are 50/50, leading more towards not getting in.

Thanks! I took all IB classes- some classes are harder than AP, but most have the same rigor as AP

for the ACT, what is breakdown of your English and math subtests?
