What are my chances?

UCSD is my dream school but UCI, UCSC and UCSC are also my priority schools. I have a 3.5 UC GPA. I have volunteered at my local library for a summer and I am planning to volunteer this summer at a hospital. I was in Renaissance which is like a ASB at my school. I know Spanish and sign language besides English. I was treasurer for Sign Language Club, AVID 4 years, Science Club secretary, Debate Club member, Spanish Club and Chicano Club member. I was in JV volleyball and varsity swim. I haven’t gotten my scores for my ACT and SAT Subject Tests yet. What scores would be good enough for admission and, based on these stats, what are my chances for any UC?

Based on your UC GPA and EC’s listed, your best chance would be UCSC. Your UC GPA is below average for all other UC’s which is a disadvantage since UC’s tend to be GPA focused. For UCSD, aim for 2100+ SAT/31+ ACT. For the Mid-tiers, SAT around 2000+/ACT 30+. Subject tests in the 700 range would help. Remember that your application is not just GPA/test scores/EC’s but also your essays. Spend time on your essays and make them amazing. I wish you good luck, but until you get concrete test results it is difficult to determine your chances. Just remember to have some solid Matches and Safeties on your list.
