Im a sophomore with a 4.14, last year I kinda screwed up, ended with a 3.5. I took one ap class this year, probably got a 4-5. I also took the Sat II world history. Next year I am taking 3 APs and 2 honors. Senior year I am taking 4 APs. Also, I am self studying AP psych next year.
So far my extracurriculars are:
New Student mentor at my school
Mock trial
STEAM club
Feminist coalition
competitive gymnastics (year around)
competitive swimming (year around)
high school swimming
service I have done:
every summer camping with at risk kids
helping younger kids at junior life guards at my beach- 140+ hours
and more.
PSAT- 1100, defiantly going to improve next year and sat is going to be way higher.
What are my chances with UCB, UCSB, UCLA, NYU, Colombia, Stanford (probably not going to happen), Harvard (I am a legacy), Princeton, and PENN?
also, planning on adding more extra curricular next year, and will be receiving the presidential community service award
It’s hard to say without your SAT, but your best bets look to be UCSB, UCLA, and NYU. Harvard legacy may help you out, but the legacy alone won’t get you in. The freshman year GPA won’t matter much, keep up your current GPA.
You have great EC’s! Your commitment to sports looks awesome. Are you considering college recruitment?
What is your planned major? That makes a difference as well.
To improve your chances: Relate your ECs to your major and get a great SAT. Keep planning to apply to all of the schools that you mentioned.
Keep up the hard work!
no, I’m not exactly good enough.
What is your uwGPA in 4.0 max scale? wGPA without explanation means nothing.
