I am a sophomore student at Emmaus High School, in PA with a current standing GPA of 2.78. I am aiming to improve my GPA to at least a 3.0 by the time I submit my application but, I am interested in majoring in Political Science and was wondering could I get in with the GPA assuming Emmaus’s grading policy and good SAT/ACT scores? Could I get into these schools?

Kutztown University - Somewhat of a match
Penn State regional campuses (then transfer to main) - Match for branches, not Main
U. Pitt regional campuses - Not sure.
The Citadel - Slight Reach
University of Rutgers - Reach
U. Delaware - Reach
U. Maryland - Reach
U. West Chester - Not sure.
VMI - Slight Reach
North Dakota State - Not sure.
Harvard (for fun) - Epic Fail.

This is even if your SAT’s were 1200/1600. Your GPA is way too low and I’m assuming you even get a 3.0. Going OOS is quite hard and standards have gone up for sure since I applied as it always does.

One question…

Kutztown is one of the EASIEST schools in PA to get into…Why do you say it would be somewhat?

I don’t know if I can chance you right now since you’re only a sophomore. You never know what’s gonna happen junior year.

But, assuming you do get a 3.0+ and good SAT…

Kutztown University - no opinion
Penn State regional campuses (then transfer to main) - match

The Citadel - high match/reach-ish

one question also…what do you mean by no opinion?

I don’t know a lot about that school.
