You need to sit down and calculate your UC eligibility GPA to see if you qualify to apply. In order to calculate the GPA to determine UC eligibility, use grades from a-g courses you have taken from the summer after freshman year to the summer after junior year and weigh up to 8 semesters of AP/honors courses (any 8, the numbers will come out the same). If your UC eligibility GPA is 3.0 or above, you will qualify for admission consideration and be guaranteed acceptance to ONE UC (most likely Merced). If you do not meet the 3.0 GPA, you may still apply but most UCs will not consider your application due to ineligibility.

My opinions on what the university would see;

High School: Private - Good thing
GPA - Weighted - 3.03 - BAD thing (they’re wanting 4.0 weighted and up)
Class Size: 200 - Doesn’t matter, unless you state your rank

EC:
Asst Editor of School Magazine - Alright Thing
“Athletics” - Table Tennis - Sorry, that’s kind of a joke - Not a good thing, not a bad thing.
Your Volunteer - GREAT thing!! (Good job)
Awards: Honor Roll - Good thing, but doesn’t matter. Yet again, 3.03 is barely a B average…
Senior Yr Classes - Good job on the couple AP! I hope you are going into Arts with those classes?

I’m sorry if this sounds at all harsh…

but, we need to know more about your school to make up our minds on this. Along the line of, how does a 3.something get you on Honor Roll? Or, are there any circumstances that explain this?

Honor roll is anything 3.0 and up at my school, so I can see how that works…but really, if your GPA is weighted, it definitely should be 4.0+ for Berkeley.
Also, knowing your rank would help see things relatively with your GPA…cuz if you’re somehow rank 30 or better with that GPA, it’d be weird but make things better.

Your SAT I CR score needs to be higher also, and your SATII World History. I’d say retake those.

Your volunteering is good. Not sure how the rigor of your senior year schedule compares to others in your school and your area, so I can’t really judge that…people that I met at orientation, some had insane senior year schedules like me (6 out of 8 classes being AP) and some had fairly easy schedules, so I’m really not sure how to judge that.

All in all, I agree with janitorc7, more information please?
