Im Indian (Asian) by origin
I am 10 out of 230 on my class
Extremely hard course load
7 of 10 APs taken from school
3.93 GPA (4.27 wieghted)
31 on ACT (1300 on SAT didnt really want to take it so wont submit it)</p>

Tennis team since 8th grade (varsity)
Academic Team (Very competitive)
Very Active in local Indian Community
Cricket Team organizer ( got the town to make cricket field for the community)
over 150 hrs community service at Hospital and Nursing Home
Many Clubs at school
Governors Scholar

<p>Indian community in “very very rural Kentucky”? Thats so random! and they actually made a cricket field for you guys? impressive… lol you probably have a good chance at all the schools. your geography will probably help. and your stats are good. did you not take SAT II’s? you’re lucky.</p>

<p>Yea, I live in South East Kentucky, but we have about 50 Indo-Pak families in the area. We have large cultural events and play cricket quite a bit on our very own cricket ground (we also have a practice field)</p>

<p>o yea I had one more school in mind UNIVERISTY of CHICAGO (i have legacy status there) One more thing i dont know if it will help- no one from our county has applied to out of state schools for like the past 3 years.</p>

<p>I echo boomer. I would dump NYU if I were you, unless you really want to go there. Its not a typical college experience at all and people either love it or hate it. Make sure you love it before you apply. </p>

<p>I think you could use some more reaches. I very strongly recommend Northwestern and Cornell. Believe it or not you have a decent shot with that ACT.</p>

<p>Thanks a lot for the responses. Yea, I have opted out of applying at NYU. I applied to Duke ED so will that make my chances any better? I have legacy status at northwestern, but i feel that the school is too big? Any other opinion?</p>
