What are my nephew's chances to get into NYU?

His scoring is 3/GPA and 1270/SAT.
Tisch is his 1st choice. What is a realistic choice no. 2 for him to apply for there?

NYU has a high average GPA, around a 3.7 and their average sat is 1410. If he increases his sat score and already has solid extracurriculars, he might have a chance there, if not then I’m not quite sure. If he has his heart set on new york then maybe apply to Pace University, Hofstra University.

I feel that Tisch definitely focuses more on ECs than GPA and test scores, although getting them higher wouldn’t hurt.

Does my nephew have 2 other choices to submit on top of Tisch (just to increase his chances to get into NYU in general)
