<p>Is participation required? Are there a lot of “socratic seminars” where you have to talk?</p>
<p>Well…I heard that UGBA 10 doesn’t have a curve anymore (it used to), but I would assume the discussions are pretty similar…you usually go over what was discussed in lecture or supplement whatever was discussed in lecture, and sometimes discuss the articles u read/essays you wrote for the class… you pretty much have to participate if you want a good participation grade since a decent % of your grade is based off of participation in the discussion. You could also do fine if you don’t like putting yourself out there to talk all the time; I was able to get a A- even though I didn’t participate very much. However, if you want a A, you’d need to put a lot of effort into participation. </p>
