what are short term classes?

the community college i’ll be attending is offering “short term classes”…what are they and how do they differ from regular classes? what are the advantages of taking short term classes?

They aren’t as long. You may have it for 8 weeks for 3 hours instead of having it for 16 weeks for 1.5 hours. I don’t reccommed doing any important classes in them (if your a bio major, don’t take bio then). I have taken an algebra and psychology, and I felt a bit rushed in the math, but other than that, I liked them.

I took 3 classes like this last summer, and I wouldn’t recommend taking anything harder than intro classes in them, because professors really have to cram stuff in to the shorter length. Mine were 5-6 weeks long, 1.5 hours all 5 days a week (as opposed to regular summer classes which are 11ish weeks long, 1.25-1.5 hours for 2-3 days a week). It’s a good way to get classes out of the way though. You’re done with them after a month or so, instead of 3-4 months.

so these kind of classes aren’t recommended for people with busy schedules then?

is it harder to get good grades in these kinds of classes?

Yes and yes.
