What are some good books to improve in the math and science section?

I’m already ordering the red book and I have the princenton one so I was wondering what are some books that will help me with my weak sections (science and math) Thanks!

At this point it looks like there really is no good, ACCURATE book for the science section because that section has gotten a lot harder this year, making even the new red book and any other prep book currently available outdated (they’re still good for the english, math, and reading, though)

I don’t completely agree with you Somewhere. Although this year’s science section was different, the core idea is the same – you should be able to a) interpret graphs and b) understand the nuances of a scientific process. You can still learn both of those things very well with the current Red Book.

The good news is that interpreting graphs and tables is 80% of science. The bad news is that 20% of it isn’t. When it comes to that remaining 20%, I can’t think of a better suggestion than that of practice.

EDIT: I thought of one. Take a science test you’ve never seen before under timed conditions. See what you got wrong/what you had no time to answer. Go one by one to learn the answer to each question, AS WELL AS HOW to get that answer. Then, retake the same test a couple days later implementing your new knowledge of how to read science passages. The second time, notice where you’re still failing and re-teach yourself about what went wrong. Repeat this process until you’re able to get 100%. Then try taking another science test you’ve never seen before, and repeat the whole process.

Thanks guys, I will practice for the February test!

Photokat if you did well on the sat there is not that much prep to do trust me. You have the two best prep books already red book and pr cracking the act.

English: pr is a god send
Math: pr is a god send
Reading: Skip this section on pr, basically if you are fast reader, do a read through then answer, the questions
If you are slow like me read the intro, topic sentences, and conclusion, do the rest when answering the question. It works and I suck at sat cr. oh always work backwards on the reading section.
Science: pr helped me so much.

Basically, if you already took the sat there is not that much prep. I only prepped for two days and expecting a 33+ on this dec act. Go through the pr book then Attack the red book

In the red book time yourself appropriately and do one section a day or so.remember the most important thing of all practice makes perfect. If it takes 45 minutes to do english section review that section atelast 45+ minutes.

Good luc

To those saying the science was a lot harder this year, it was exactly the same as the October 2010 test’s science section. In fact, the whole test was EXACTY the same as the one from last year.

^ so in other words, yes, the science was hard but, no, it is not a new trend. Each test generally varies in the difficulty of each section for some reason.
