What are some good colleges for me?

I am trying to gather some more colleges for my list, ranging from safety, to target, to reach. I love the humanities and government so I want a college strong in that (I will probably major in one of those), but I also want to be able to take science classes specifically environmental. I am looking for a good school all around incase I change my mind related to major. I have take a rigorous course load (8 APs, lots of electives) and got 4s and 5s on the exams. my SAT is in the 1300-1400 range (i got 1300 but am taking again and expecting an increase). I also do horseback riding and play trombone which I have various accomplishments in. I am part of my schools multicultural club and have several other leadership positions. Thanks for any suggestions! Especially safety and target schools, I am having trouble finding those

Perhaps Macalester College? It’s a small school but it definitely has a good humanities program and a very multicultural focus.

Any of the mid-to-top liberal arts college (we like Mac too). Many have a wide curriculum that they are very good at teaching…often great teaching ratings. If you look at the Colleges that Change Lives (CTCL) schools, you’re probably competitive and in line to get merit scholarships. Once you look at those schools, you’ll probably learn about some of the more selective LACs.

Allegheny, Dickinson, Hobart & William Smith, St. Lawrence and Wheaton (MA) should be realistic for you.

Kenyon and Skidmore might be within reach.

The NESCACs, though generally highly selective, include schools with test optional/flexible policies that might value your extensive AP testing.

Do you want to continue with horseback riding while in college? Some schools have riding teams or programs.

Goucher has a good political science and environmental. They are about an hour away from DC (in Baltimore) and have a global focus, with a mandatory study abroad requirement.
They also have an equestrian team with facilities.

You don’t mention the financial side. Will you be full pay or close to it?

Are there any regions you’d prefer? Urban, college town, or rural?

But based on what you say, I’d, in particular, agree with Dickinson and Macalester. You might also look at the University of Vermont–good for your areas of interest, Burlington is a great college town, you might find houses there. It is cold. Good luck!
