What are some good schools that fit this description?

Hi. So, I am in the college selection and here is what I find important in a college, do you have any suggestions for schools that are similar to this criteria? My gpa is 3.6, 28 on the ACT, and i have strong extracurriculars, mostly music and tennis

In a perfect world, I would like a school that is:

mid size - 5,000 - 12,000 or so
strong in biological sciences
work hard, play hard attitude
diversity, open and friendly students, different and eclectic types of people
outdoors oriented
relatively small class sizes
fairly selective
good nightlife

it doesnt have to be every single one of these because I can’t be overly picky, but if theres a school that you think would be a good fit please let me know! thanks!

U Miami and Tulane are the first to come to mind.

American, Syracuse, Lehigh, and GWU might fit as well. Fordham would fit you academically; I’m not sure about the atmosphere there.

Will you be recruited for tennis?
Where does that GPA put you in the context of your class?

Clemson, Wake Forest

You left off a vital piece of info-what you can afford per year.

CLEMSON!

mid size - 5,000 - 12,000 - we’re definitely small for a public university, we have 19,000 students total (including graduate students), and we have 13,780 undergraduates (you won’t tell the difference from 12,000).

strong in biological sciences - we’re a science/engineering/agriculture school mostly so biological sciences is a good major here

work hard, play hard attitude - people work hard during the week but definitely know how to let loose on the weekends

diversity, open and friendly students, different and eclectic types of people - the graduate population at Clemson is very diverse but for some reason the undergrad population is not very diverse ethnically, about 85% of the school is white but there are a good bit of international students (because affirmative action is not used at clemson). There are however students from all 50 states and there is an increasing number of out-of-state students (up to 35% now I think). You will run into your typical redneck ignorant student but for the most part everybody is very friendly!

outdoors oriented - we’re on lake hartwell so there are tons of recreational activities on the lake, we’re also near the Blue Ridge Mountains so hiking is only a short drive away!

relatively small class sizes - we have classes smaller than that of larger public universities, here are some of my class sizes this year: chemistry I (100), calculus I&II (40), english (18), chinese (15), geology (90), engineering (40-60).

fairly selective - with our reputation building, we’re getting more and more selective every year. You’ll need a B+/A- average to get in and an ACT of 28 or higher/SAT 1250 to get in.

good nightlife - nightlife downtown is relatively lame to be honest, there are several bars in clemson but those can get old after a while. The nightlife mainly revolves around greek life and house parties.

definitely let me know if you have any questions about clemson!

Sounds like University of Wisconsin to me. If you can deal with the cold and OOS tuition.

Bucknell, Holy Cross, Lehigh.

^ditto. However, you did not mention finances or geographic preference, if any.
