What are some other good schools to check out near RIT?

<p>A couple of friends and I are planning to drive from the DC area up to RIT to check out the school and say hi to a friend who attends school there. It’s a six-hour drive, so while we’re up there, any other good schools nearby to check out?</p>

<p>All of us are most likely going into computer science or related majors, and we’ll be looking at schools with that in mind. Personally, I’m also interested in Japanese and linguistics, but that can sit on the back burner for this trip, though it’d be a nice bonus.</p>

<p>They’re not exactly close, but UMass and CMU are also places we’ll potentially visit, though we really don’t know at this point.</p>

<p>University of Rochester is, obviously, nearby. You may also want to check out the University at Buffalo. </p>

<p>Also Geneseo is an excellent public college nearby. Have you thought about Cornell? </p>

<p>Coming straight up 81 you can check out Lehigh, Cornell, Syracuse, RochesterU, RIT. You might want to also look at , SUNYIt, RPI but that would be a different trip. What about small liberal arts? You’ll be close to a ton of those too. Near RIT you will find Hobart, Ithaca College, Colgate, Hamilton, St Lawrence, etc…Loads</p>
