What are some safety schools in PA for me?

<p>I need to know some safety schools to apply to! I have tried researching a little bit, but almost everywhere I looked I was either barely a match or for the most part reaches to all schools.</p>

<p>General Info: male, white, rising senior, PA resident, want to go to school in PA</p>

<p>stats:</p>

<p>95.8 cumulative weighted avg (9th, 10th, 11th)
rank: 20/115 after 11th grade</p>

<p>9th grade: went to a different school (Youth Services) because in 8th grade i missed 30 days of school. My mom was working out of town and I was basically living by myself at the age of 15 so my original high school decided to put me in this school for a year until my mom got her regular job back. I might decide to write about this in an essay for college.</p>

<p>Pennsylvania is crawling with colleges. It would help if we knew what kind of school you are looking for - big, small, city, suburban, small town, major, etc. What schools are you currently considering?</p>

<p>I’m an Albright Alum and I think it would be a safety for you. They are test optional and your GPA is above average for Albright. If you’re an LCCC student I’m sure it’s within an hour of home too - whether that’s a good or bad thing is up to you.</p>

Anymore suggestions for some safeties would be awesome thx guys.</p>

<p>haha I was definitely gunna apply to Penn State but idk if I wanna go to a branch campus :confused: Im gunna try to get my scores up to get into Upark!</p>

<p>fair enough. Sure, it seems like with a little higher SAT, you could have a shot at almost any school. This might be too personal, but why do you want to stay in PA?</p>

<p>Mostly b/c of the lower in-state tuition, but idk I would look into any other schools too that are out of state. I just like PA and it would be great to go to a good school like PSU or Pitt and still be able to like come home every once in a while to see my family and stuff. Those 2 schools are def reaches I know, and thats why I was asking for some safties that are also good schools. I guess you guys could throw out some OOS schools that yas think would be a good match/safety for me too.</p>

<p>You may want to look at schools that don’t require SATs as your ECs and grades are actually very, very strong adn your class rank is not bad. Try a google search. THere are lots of them.</p>

<p>What do you want to study?</p>

<p>Millersville is my fav state school because it is not as isolated as many of the others. It has great support and at least in my Philly suburb, the grads seem to have an easier time finding employment vs. some of the other state schools.</p>

<p>West Chester is well regarded, but IMO some of the buildings remind me of a high school and not a college.</p>

<p>I also recommend the SAT optional private schools – but look carefully because even though some are optional, SAT scores are required for merit aid.</p>

<p>I agree that Albright looks good. Lycombing and Susquhanna may also be worth checking.</p>
