What are some schools that don't "calculate" Freshmen GPA?

<p>Freshman year was really tough, new to town,didn’t live where I was going to school, I got a D in Spanish, and got Bs in everything else I believe</p>

<p>I mean I know Stanford and the UCs don’t,…Any things on East or West Coast(I am from Rhode Island) that either don’t use them to calculate your GPA…etc. This could be the difference between a high 3, or a low 3.</p>

<p>Even though most schools calculate Freshman year into overall GPA, its Freshman year. You are taking classes that are not of much importance as compared to those you took junior year. If you took challenging courses junior year and did well on them, you are showing an upward trend. Explain your situation on your application. Adcoms understand.</p>
