What are some schools that have dance organizations?

I am not talking about taking dance courses for college credit, but I mean a club/organization that has dance (ballet, modern, lyrical, etc). I do not wish for a college dance team, but rather a club that is not associated with national competitions and football games.

I do not mean ballroom dancing. This seems to be the only club I ever find!

If you could, could you please tell me any school you know of that offers this?

Barnard and Columbia share very good dance clubs

Vassar has Hip Hop 101 and the Fly People–both are student organizations open to anyone. They also have many dance classes for credit. You might also be interested in the Barefoot Monkeys.

We have been looking for the exact same thing. My daughter loves dance, and wants to take classes for fun, not as a major, minor, etc. and, like you, she is not interested in joining a dance club that performs at sporting events. We liked Franklin & Marshall, a small LAC that has a dance club “just for fun” according to some of the students we met. Also, St. Olaf in Minnesota had a terrific program and clubs and my daughter loved the facilities. Most of the schools we have toured have dance clubs but many of them are to perform at sporting events or it is ballroom, etc. I have asked a similar question as you in the past on another thread and the one word of caution I always hear is to make sure the dance clubs are not restricted to the dance majors only. Good luck
