What are some small seminar style schools similar to Reed or Eugene Lang College?

I currently attend Eugene Lang and am halfway through my second semester, but am looking to transfer. I love the course subjects, teaching style (mostly seminar-based), and amount of flexibility; but I can not stand the majority of students here, which has led to my becoming very introverted and depressed. I have also found it difficult to participate in any of the student activities because of the administration’s lack of organizational skill, as well as the complete lack of student activities. Ideally, I’d transfer to Reed College, however their acceptance rate is lowering every year and it would be nice to have more options. Are there any schools in a similar setting and having a similar student population to Reed?

What don’t you like about the students at EL so we can recommend alternatives? One alternative to Reed is Lewis and Clark, also in Portland, slightly less competitive to get into. Many student activities available.

Sarah Lawrence in Bronxville has tutorial-style classes, and I believe learning is very individualized.

If you’re a fan of the faculty directed senior thesis, check out College of Wooster which is much less competitive than Reed. Because it’s in a rural locale, the sense of community is far stronger since students can’t “escape” into the city. If you’re willing to go really rural, and consider a school which is in many ways the humanities focused LAC antithesis of New School, check out Sewanee although you may not like the greek scene.

Whitman College may also be of interest.
