I am a senior in high school right now and am considering pre-med. Most people say you should want to do medicine if you choose to do it and not for the money. and although I kind of want to do it, my heart isn’t fully for it. If i could choose ANY job, it would be modeling, but acting would be next and modeling isnt something to rely on, so if i applied for the arts school at USC, how much experience would i need and what do i have to do to get in?

what are the “auditions” like? for instance, for NYU, i’ve seen people’s ten minute films that they send in of themselves in a movie. is that what you have to do for USC?

This is kind of sneaky but it’s a lot easier to apply to USC as an undecided major or as a major in the College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences and then switch into the School of Theatre, either as a BA, a BFA, or a minor. They’ll interview you and there’s an application process but it’s much easier to get in once you’re already a USC student if you’re worried about the audition process.

Also, there’s no audition for the BA in theatre, just an interview. The BA program gives you more room to pursue other interests, while the BFA is a very focused program.

oh well thats good because i applied to arts and sciences…except that i applied to one of the harder sciences : / neuroscience. although, some say that they dont look at what major you choose so hopefully, that’s true. it seems like there have been some pretty successful people from usc that got into entertainment and i DO have a unique look and i think, in time, i’d be able to become a better actress with training. (not to be conceded becuz in real life, i am far from it : ] )
