I want to major in math.
Does the honor program require some core curriculum such as biology or chemistry?I really don’t like biology.
And do the students in the honor program have more opportunities to gain scholarships?

Not sure about core curriculum.
The honors distinction makes students more attractive for employment, recruiters, and i’d assume scholarships as well.

scholarships are very important to me…a poor kid…

This year’s IT Honors Program had a core curriculum with physics, math, and chemistry, but no bio. The 2008-2009 curriculum MAY be more flexible, but I think that is still being decided.

at the U of M, a majority of the academic scholarship money is given to students who have been admitted to the honors programs.
