What are the Benefits of Double Majoring?

are there any additional benefits to double majoring other than being passionate about two subject areas? like does it give you an advantage in med school applications?

From what I’ve read on CC it doesn’t seem like there would be to many advantages to a double major. But then again I guess it could really depend on what your majoring in.

Nope. And it might limit your ability to take interesting courses outside your major areas. Just take one major, all your med school pre-req’s, and whatever strikes your fancy at the time.

There are no advantages admissions-wise, but it may help you down the line if you don’t get into med school and are looking for a job. (Not that you can’t with one major, but you won’t want to get out of college with a degree that has few options.)

The advantage is you get to be passionate about two subjects and learn a lot about them.
