What are the best clubs to join at NYU to make friends?

Which clubs ore the best for making friends? Ones that are small, do a lot of activities/meet fairly often?

Greek life

Okay, other than that.

Students for Sensible Drug Policy, if you’re into that. This is a serious suggestion.

A bunch of “nerdy” clubs have pretty tight communities.

Quidditch! Seriously, we have a fantastic, welcoming community. There are a lot of people in it but at the same time, we’re a tight knit group. We meet at the cube on Astor Place at 11am Saturday!

Have you checked out the Jewish Heritage Programs?

Many NYU students are happy with their Greek letter organizations and only have positive things to say about their experiences with Greek life. Over 10% of NYU students are involved with Greek life as of March 2011. There’s no harm in giving it a try and going out for recruitment, and if you don’t like it, you can always drop out, no pressure. The only way to know if Greek life is for you is to try it yourself! :)

Thanks for all this! I actually went to some greek recruitment events, but definitely didn’t like it. I might actually try the quidditch suggestion!

I’m in the Students for Sensible Drug Policy club and I really like it because it’s a completely open forum to discuss all sorts of issues related to drugs such as laws, usage, economics, etc. You learn a lot and it’s pretty interesting as well.
