What are the chances I will get accepted?

Hello, this is my first post in this website, I am curious on how well my profile looks.
I am applying for freshman year as a 17 year old with AA degree (in summer)

Cumulative GPA: 3.75
Academic Core GPA: 4.2174
Weighted Cumul. GPA: 5.0583
SAT: 1860
ACT: 28
High School Credits: 30+
College Credits : 70+
Service Hrs: 107

No club or job whatsoever.
Any idea if this is good or bad?

I’m in the same boat as you, having applied as a freshman with an AA. Similar grades too. Does it make much of a difference, negative or positive, to have the associate’s degree when you apply?

I think you have a good shot

I think you have a good chance based on the typical freshman profile… Remember decisions come out Friday so don’t stress about it too much. You’ll find out soon! Best of luck

do you have any extracurriculars…?

remember admissions is holistic, and supposedly you need more than good grades to get in…not to scare you or anything

That’s true. I had my AA at the same time of graduation in HS, but I had the ability to keep playing soccer and tennis and Mu Alpha Theta and a couple other clubs. Also had one job during my DE times.

I understand if your schedule didn’t allow this, my Thursdays were really time conflicting.

One of my friends who was in DE with me in almost all my classes didn’t get into UF. He had a higher GPA than me but he didn’t really volunteer much and he only had 1 club (key club).

I hope this doesn’t scare you, but i agree that decisions are holistic. I’m honestly not sure how much they weigh people with AAs compared to other qualities. But best of luck, you have some shot.

Other than telling them that I had to baby-sit my four year old brother everyday at home, no other extracurriculars.

But I think I did mention something like winning 2nd place in a MESA competition during middle school.

Thank you all for reading and replying.

Babysitting is a legitimate EC activity and job, and it should be conveyed on your application, especially if there was no one else in the family that could do the babysitting. It must have taught you responsibility, organization, patience, etc. It is a lot more worthwhile than many resume padding high school clubs.

That is good to hear, but I think I put it under “what prevents you from having EC” in the resume instead of the actually EC section.

Btw, the above stats about me are the current ones after the 1st half of senior grades (6As), so the transcript I send them has the gpa slightly lower. Do they look at what was send before or would they request another transcript?

Otherwise, consider sending them a supplement to clarify your babysitting as an activity. I don’t think they will need another transcript, but they will likely need your mid year report. Good luck.

Would it make sense to send a supplement like that only if deferred? It seems a bit late for sending supplements since the date for acceptance letters to go out is the 8th.

I doubt their adcomm will be reviewing any supplements at this point. If you are deferred after the Feb 8th notification, then you may send in appeal supplements and the such. Good luck to all! 5 MORE DAYS.
