What are the curves usually

So right now I am using a 2008 book (i got it from a friend) and i got a 33 but in the book it said theres like a correction factor of +1 for the math section and +1.5 for science and +2 for reading and -2 for english (writting) and I was wondering if this is still correct. Also I of course need a new book before I actually take it so any advice on what to get?
also is the format the same or has it changed since then

I think the correction factor is just to give you an estimate of where your actual score will fall in. So I think you’re good for scoring around a 33.

The way I curve the practice tests is subtracting the amount I get wrong from 36.

For example, -3 in English equals 33.
