What Are The Homework or Assignments Like For Business Majors???

I’ve looked around on this site, but I haven’t been able to find anyone mentioning it. SO, how much homework do business majors get? I’m think of majoring in accounting or economics, and so I want to have a general idea…

Completely depends on the school, department, speciality, and class.

I found a good thread…The last response is really useful, since I was worried about math too: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/community-colleges/1720266-business-major-but-does-not-like-math.html

I can tell you that the recommended amount of time per week for one intro accounting class is six hours/week. That’s the recommended minimum, since you have to practice it, to get any good at it. Some business classes really depend on the professor, for instance my Blaw class, I barely studied at all, took notes, studied notes before a test, probably less than 30 minutes of homework a week. The amount hours it requires will go up as you take more advanced classes.

@greymouse Thank you! At your school, how much of the grade does homework count towards?

It depends on the professors. In my accounting principles class the homework counted as 20%, Quizzes for 20% and exams 60%. My Blaw class didn’t have any homework :stuck_out_tongue: all the points came from 5 exams covering four chapters a piece. Now in this case my Blaw professor was easy on his tests (really easy, which is why I took him) but usually I do not like it when there isn’t any homework for a grade in a class. Because I am not the best test taker, I usually need the homework points to boost up my test grades.
Either way, both accounting and econ majors will do quite a bit of studying. It’s the professor that really makes the class.
