What are the most annoying threads on CC?

MODERATOR’S NOTE:
Several times in the past 138 pages, I have said that linking the thread is not allowed. It’s one thing to have a little giggle on some comments; it’s quite another to single out a thread for shaming. That’s not the purpose of this site.

MODERATOR’S NOTE:

Actually, it’s hijacking, so it’s more than just a little annoying - it’s not allowed. However, I appreciate the thought, and have left the body of the text. It’s easy enough to click on the username and find the thread.

@skieurope See! I’m a total noob and I need a list of manners to follow on CC. I apologize, but I really did not know any better.

Okay so this is the mean girls thread.

Posters who respond to a thread with incorrect information. Often.

Chance me threads where other HS students tell OP " You’ll definitely get in because your scores are very similar to mine" Clearly , as always, there’s going to be some very surprised and disappointed students over the next 6 months.

Completely missing that a student is not qualified for nearly all the target colleges. Sometimes, adults on CC get just as starry-eyed as the kids. That kid needs safeties.

Political threads under the veil of…just about anything.

Wouldn’t it be nice if people would check their politics at Login?

@STEM2017 Many don’t even attempt to veil the political slant.

Any thread where someone with a very high family income is upset because they won’t be receiving NEED based financial aid.

Threads where someone makes an absolute statement e.g. Canada is exactly like the US. And when it is pointed out with examples that the statement is false, the commenter replies with indignation that he cannot be expected to point out the exceptions.

Another absolute statement made recently was that there were no college classes canceled after 9/11. I would love to learn more about the data base that includes daily class cancellation information for every instructor at the thousands of universities across the country.

Blech…

@Nrdsb4 More of those threads than one would ever imagine.

Many of those same people complaining that they won’t receive anything refuse to fill out a FAFSA or CSS profile , so how can they be sure ?

Th gal with the wide eyed, on so confused stare, a la Roseanne Roseannadana, who then points fingers. Danger, Will Robinson.

@carolinamom2boys One had a family income of $350,000. Some say their parent doesn’t want to reveal their finances on those forms (hmmm).

That’s fine if they don’t want to reveal their finances @TomSrOfBoston . It’s purely a personal choice . IMO if you someone isn’t willing to comply with requirements , then one loses the right to complain.

@carolinamom2boys But the student complains here about not getting any aid!

I guess The Rolling Stones said it best " “We can’t always get what we want.”
