@Sue22, I think Tom is being sarcastic.
I think it’s a toss-up which are more annoying: those 8th and 9th graders or the rising seniors who tell others how to get into a tippy top.
I really do love the bright ones with open minds.
I’ll just say it: the general CC bubble irritates me. Every thread I see that constantly refers only to the elite schools as opposed to general colleges + univs makes me cringe.
^^ I’d like that multiple times if I could, @LBad96!
Threads that get turned into “liberal’conservative” arguments and posts about relatives that have been talked about ad nauseum elsewhere
Threads where ever third post involves mentioning that someone will PM someone so no one following the thread really has a clue as to what is being talked about.
Threads that use anecdotal examples regarding acceptances and rejections as statement of fact rather than personal opinion.
Threads where the user posts “You’re wrong” while providing no data to back up the statement.
This thread is like TV commercials. You never mentioned your competition by name. Laundry detergents would show “the leading brand” with a blue and orange box that didn’t say “Tide.” Today, commercials directly name the competitor. That is this thread at this point. LOL
I’ll repeat, once again, something I’ve said several times on this thread:
One can poke fun at a thread without demeaning the OP or the users that respond to him/her. We can collectively nod our heads in agreement without resorting to personal attacks.
So be a bit more subtle please. No links and no direct quotes.
Threads where the OP is in one thread a rising junior, and in another is the parent (with bad english) of a rising senior. And a new poster, to boot. Too bad we can’t use that a propos word for the title person that lives under a bridge…
I am soooo soooo soooo smart!!! I have a 6.0 UWA, 5’s on all my APs-- even the ones I haven’t taken yet, and am teaching each of my teachers the materials in my courses.
But I haven’t found the time to learn how to do an internet search. Can someone tell me which colleges I can get accepted into?
Similar to this, the posts made by a student who think that they are the only person who has ever asked the question. This week, we have seen a proliferation of them as AP scores are released. e.g.
• Should I get it rescored?
• Did the CB mess up?
• Should I report a 3?
• How much weight will AO’s attach to my 4?
I’ve gotten All A +" s since middle school but I only got a 1590 on the SAT?! Also my Varisty soccer team (4 year captain) only got 2nd this year in states. I don’t really have anything else special ( Small, unimportant internship with Presidenf of the United States.) There is no way I could possibly get into any selective school. Any good ideas for community colleges?
I got 5s on my AP exams and one 4… A) Am I screwed ? B) Should I still report them?
Or
Should I report my 4’s?
(When did we all decide that a “B” or a “4” is a bad grade?)
@labegg – WE didn’t. THEY did.
Parents have helped with this mindset.
I think I made a mistake in picking “H” over “Y”. It’s July, can I change my mind?
Current college kids who state with absolute conviction how adcoms react.
International students who think college in this country should be free or very low cost for them.
Do colleges in THEIR countries offer free or low cost college educations (including room and board) to folks from other countries?
