I am a sucker for sales. There was a sale (very good price) on bags of the mini snack pack peanut m&ms. I bought 4. And then there were three…
The threads where people make points that were made pages and pages before, multiple times.

International students making a new thread about “schools with generous aids” when the exact same thread is alreayd pinned right in front of your eyes
I hate long posts and long thread. I have ADD. I wish posters could make their point in one sentence if not then they are being too wordy. It’s not an essay for goodness sake.
Essay or not, evidence is what makes a good post, if there’s some sort of controversy. Otherwise, it’s just slogans and gotcha.
Post #544: @DrGoogle you used 4 sentences to make your point that you prefer a one sentence point.
:))
This is a tough audience!
Madison-
She used 4 sentences. There are posters who write 4 (or more ) paragraphs that are difficult to slog through without ones eyes glazing over.
Madison, I have ADD. Only short sentences. I can’t write long sentences. :))
People who give tax advice on CC and don’t know what they are talking about.
DUke boosters who hijack threads that mention Duke in passing with vigorous defenses of Duke, assertions that it should be the #1 ranked school in the country and other tangential Duke stuff
What tax advice? I don’t believe I did.
Humanities majors are useless! STEM majors are soulless! Humanities majors can’t get a job! STEM majors have no social skills! Humanities bad! STEM bad! Humanities bad! STEM bad! Less filling! Tastes great!
Which field of engineering pays the most? Which one is the hardest? Which one is the easiest?
STUDENTS who tell PARENTS/EXPERTS to review their sources when talking about financial aids at school
(Just this week a poster said that tuition a grandparent pays directly to a college will result in the student having to pay income tax on it).
Freshman who hate their schools and want to transfer after one week!
What major requires the least work and promises the biggest income and easiest job?
Even worse, a thread with a provocative title that you open, only to read, “well, not really! But I knew people wouldn’t open my thread if I titled it accurately.”
Threads started by someone who joins, immediately starts a thread, and then never comes back…
Some are obviously spammers (“Buy this product!”) so it’s easy to just flag and ignore. But the ones that bother me are those who appear to have a real question, generate many replies but then the OP is nowhere to be found. I guess the discussion could still be helpful to someone (and it’s still at times entertaining as well), but I can’t help feeling somewhat annoyed (for lack of a better word).
I wonder if there should be a waiting period before you can start a thread? And/or you should have a certain number of replies before you can start your own thread. Something to show some level of “good faith” to the CC community.
