Referencing the post # does absolutely nothing for me. It’s not like I can click it to see what was said, and if it isn’t on the same page I’m not going to go search for it. I treat those posts like the ones that don’t reference the post they’re responding to at all.
I’ve been in college for four whole days and I hate it here and I want no make that need to transfer to a school I’ve never visited because I’d be happy there and so please validate meeeeeeeeee!
Me too!
“What are my chances, please be honest”
After getting some honest, informed replies:
You are destroying my dreams. You have no right to say such things! I know I can get into Stanford with a 3.5 and a 28 ACT.
Inconsiderate might be too strong.
However, post numbers are useless if I, or another mod, cleans up threads, which makes the referenced post number meaningless.
Good to know! I don’t see post #'s used all the often anyway…usually quotes which I agree with the others, are much more useful.
The “Help! I need to raise my SAT 300 points in a month!” threads
Threads where someone uses cc as a blog.
The threads that I start and nobody posts on them so they sink quickly into oblivion.
My vote still goes to any “chance me” thread.
The super annoying Chance Me threads are the ones w the stealthy “click bait” titles.
My SAT score was 2350. Should I retake? HELP!!!
Threads where another poster brings up something you said a while ago on another thread, to try to make her point. Anyone ever get the feeling they have a stalker?
So I see that your kids’ school doesn’t have minors. Does that influence how you feel about this?
Oh, and non-sequitur replies should have a place in this discussion, too.
(See what I did there? ;)) )
PLEASE! Chance me for Harvard, Yale, Penn, Brown, Princeton, Dartmouth, Columbia, Cornell, Stanford, MIT and Caltech!!
Can you recommend me some school where I can study well and party too?
Any thread with the grammatically grating “recommend me”.
^^^And I’ll CHANCE YOU BACK!1!1
Can I get into HYPMS if I can’t figure out how to use the search box to see if my question has been asked 1000 times before?
Please give me your opinion.
But tell me only what I want to hear.
