First post, new screen name, junior, no test scores and some dumb chance me question
The threads asking for tips to negotiate a higher salary for an INTERNSHIP, because the proffered $50/hr doesn’t include gratis housing & meals.
"Please re-edit my essay. I know you suggested changes last time. I didn’t make them, but I made other changes. "
Why am I spending time rereading your essay if you didn’t take my suggestions last time? If you didn’t value my opinion 2 days ago, why are you asking for it now???
Anyone ever have to deal with a fungus under their toenails?
Holy cow, I want to see those threads! ![]()
^ 2 post total. I think that one is pulling legs.
I applied last night to 72 schools, all EA, and at least 20 minutes before the deadline.
But I made 63 mistakes.
Who will fix this for me?
I am from a European country where college is free and my parents are wealthy but they won’t pay for me to go to college in the US because it’s free here. I’m the very top student at my school and I want to go only to one of the top American universities but it needs to give merit aid and be near a beach, so my list is Harvard, Stanford and the University of Hawaii please chance me.
Some kid: “School X is more intellectual than School Y, but School Y is more difficult than school X”
Me: “Hmm, based on what information?”
Some kid: “I don’t know, I just have a feeling that’s the case based on what I read online”
Want more ideas for schools on my list. Looking at small private LACs: Mellencamp, Swartherton, Washington & Grant, Wesley, Harvardford, Olin, Auburn, and tOSU. The urbaner the better, unless it’s not. Please help!
“Chance me–I’m an international applying to all 8 ivies and Stanford.”
@MADad that is a bit of exception-low income international students who want to go to US school have few choices other than applying to top notch schools with scholarships and merit scholarship schools. I know I would have NOT applied for harvard had I been able to afford 70K per year(not that I would get in anyway). But for foreign students randomly applying, yeah I get what you’re saying
I might get a B+ in a course and sully my 4.5 GPA. Should I drop the course?
Can anyone tell me some bedtime stories about getting into the top schools with poor grades and test scores?
Threads where the OP acts helpless to look up anything at all, even when many posters point to where the info can be found. And repeats the same helplessness over and over.
Threads where a poster asks a simple question, gets an answer and departs, but the CC community keeps on debating the subject to death until it devolves into arguments and personal attacks and has to be closed by a mod. Honestly, why beat a dead horse? Sometimes a question is just a question and not a debate topic.
^ haha! Or, the one where someone brings up something from your past post history that appears to contradict with something you just posted. Ever so slightly and with different circumstances.
Thread where international student asks if it’s okay to lie about transcripts, but then proceeds to tell posters to stop being judgmental.
