What are the most annoying threads on CC?

The thread where you ask a question and lots of people put in replies attacking you for asking that question because they disagree with it.

Also annoying to me:
When you start a thread asking for some real specifics - and within a couple of posts people are posting things OUTSIDE of those specifics!!! I understand that threads often derail EVENTUALLY but not within the first few posts!!!

Oh…and I don’t like threads that are bumped up after a four year hiatus! Old news!

Threads like when you ask for ideas for something your kids have told you they want for graduation, and you get 7 pages of people telling you that young people don’t really want or use the item your kids have already assured you they want.

Or that are bumped up after four minutes!

bump

This is a great thread…can’t believe how many of these I’m thinking “yes! exactly!” - also makes you wonder how CC is so perfect a place to be when it’s actually so imperfect!!! HA!

Can we start naming specific threads? j/k ;)

Threads that get a warning from the moderator for some reason but people keep misbehaving anyway.

After reading these, I’m glad I generally stick to the parents forum, cafe and one school forum. I don’t see most of these annoying topics!

“My darling child was born and raised in the ____ part of the country where people are perfect and enlightened. How can she/he possibly cope with going to school in the _____ part of the country where people are wild savages?” Fill in the blanks.

The threads that are heating up and getting really interesting (or highly entertaining in a slow-motion-train-wreck sort of way)… and then I go to bed, or life happens… and by the time I get back to CC, the thread has been closed.

(Annoying only because my personal amusement in following the thread has been squashed, not because of the thread topic, which is practically irrelevant.)

I don’t like the threads by posters who include the SAME student information every time they start a thread or post a response…whether that matters on the thread or not. Just veiled brags.

Eastcoastcrazy, hahahaha!

Yes, most disappointing when we finish popping popcorn and pull up a chair, and poof gone or closed. Awww…

Another annoyance is the negativity in responding, such as to a thread asking for opinions or suggestions, especially when the response does not address the question asked. If a poster is asking for suggestions , how does “I hate that- I cant stand that” help the OP? Really?

^ In a similar vein, when there are threads celebrating x sport or x event or whatever and people come on the thread solely to bash it. I don’t understand why people insist on spreading negativity.

response to post #70 (hurray for post #s!)- east/west…Midwest.

Currently annoyed by an OP who is making nasty comments about how we posters are being “bullies” etc. He has an attitude problem- as evidenced by his thread. Dislike it when young people ask for opinions and get told honest ones they don’t like to hear so they accuse people of strong negatives (don’t know how to put it, sorry).

Chance Me, where the OP doesn’t share much information or hasn’t taken any tests yet. Also " I can’t believe I got only a 4 on my AP exam when I studied so hard, did they give me someone else’s score?" etc.

• I got shut out to all my colleges. WHY??? Then you open the thread and the body reads: I got rejected from all off my choices except Williams, Amherst, Middlebury, and Cornell…

• Chance an international seeking a full-ride

• OOS needs full ride to [insert top public uni here]

how about when CC puts yesterday on just posted threads- about a minute ago! Current time, wrong day.
