Posters on college selection threads who feel the need to boost the case for College A by denigrating College B, or who obsessively research statistics to make hair splitting comparisons about Dept.X at College A vs. Dept. X at College B, when the difference is inconsequential in most cases and the choice should be made on fit and finances.
Will I get in trouble for asking what happened?
People who arbitrarily decide that of all the different career paths a student can follow, there are a handful that are “top jobs” and that performance in placing there should mean anything to people who don’t care about those industries.
@widgetmidget, you are in jail.
Maybe you should chastise yourself. ![]()
Poster who wants a school with “diversity”, i.e, upper income non-whiles and no poor whites.
@GMTplus7 I thought you were joking until I found that thread myself. His parents must be so proud.
Can someone post a link?
No, links are not allowed. Regardless, it was a bogus post which I deleted.
The one in which a poster proclaims that fraternities and sororities cause suicides.
The one where the OP reports a user who gave a factual answer (i.e. not an opinion) because his feelings were hurt. You’re in for a rude awakening, kid.
The one in which a student (a college student!) is looking for third-party validation for their decision to not attend class for the last two weeks of the semester, because the professor hasn’t been calling on him/her.
The the poster is “sick of being silenced.”
@dfbdfb that thread was one of the most frivolous student thread I ever read.
And the meltdown at the end was…incredible.
Yes. This kid is only halfway through college. Just think of the epic meltdowns to come!
Was curious where this was headed: “Which is better to me than sticking around in a class where I’d like to bring in my little friend!”
The one where a student believes that he is "entitled to "and “owed the financial aid package that he deserves” for “working his butt off”
@skieurope I know links aren’t allowed, but are people allowed to name the ridiculous threads and say where to find them, instead of just giving descriptions?
I usually find that a good strategy is to check the latest posts.
Threads where the entitled student OP tempts me to post a reply that will get me in trouble with the moderators…again.
