What are the most prestigious engineering schools?

What do you guys consider to be the most highly respected engineering schools?

Thanks

South Central Louisiana State (GO MUD DOGS!!)

No seriously, why? “Most respected” depends a bit on whose respect you are looking for and to what end. Venture capitalists, for example, respect different schools than engineering employers do.

Any other opinions? Thanks!

Try US News.

Nice, anyone else???

I think MIT and CalTech are probably the most highly regarded on each of the Coasts. But, there are lots of other great engineering schools in between like UIUC and UMich in the Midwest.

Still don’t see why you are asking this. Some schools are highly regarded in the US but unknown internationally, whereas other schools with mediocre (or merely good) engineering programs may garner enormous respect overseas. There is no one answer, or even one set of answers. There are many different sets of answers to match the many different interpretations of your question.

If you are asking in the Gradaute School forum then you must mean for graduate programs. The answer then is it depends because there are different strengths for different universities. I don’t think that one school is tops in all engineering fields.

Graduate school narrows down to specific field within the branch of engineering. Very sophisticate, not just general engineering ranking.

Bump

Bro, what specific area (s) are you most interested. Need this information before recommending specific universities

Civil engineering? Mechanical engineering? Bioengineering? Chemical engineering? Materials engineering? Industrial engineering? Electrical engineering?
