<p>I am busy watching the yard flood from the apparent inland typhoon that started yesterday. </p>
<p>Ahh! That sounds awful! I’m relaxing while husband and kids do a big dinner. It’s awesome. Our rain is supposed to freeze though. Not so awesome. </p>
<p>About to leave work and go home to my D who is home on break. Gonna do a mad dash to the mall and then come home, wrap gifts and bake.</p>
<p>Well our plans were summarily canceled. I have two teenagers lying on the couches with 101 fevers and H just proclaimed he has the “chills.” So I am still prancing around in my nightgown wrapping last minute gifts. </p>

<p>I was waiting for DD#2 to arrive from Nepal via Istanbul but the connection was missed; she won’t be home until 26th, and I assume very tired.</p>
<p>Now I’m just sitting.</p>
<p>Well our power went out about an hour ago. </p>
<p>I was supposed to spend the day with my parents and in laws. Everything’s up in the air now :(</p>

<p>Hoping D2 will have made SOME progress on the 4 outstanding college applications and one outstanding scholarship application that are due 1/1 (but we leave town 12/17) by the time I get home from work…</p>
<p>About to go for walk with D1. Watching "Love Actually’ tonight with D1 & D2, and playing board games. Putting out a slice of pecan pie for Santa. :D</p>
<p>Proofreading essays, wrapping gifts, and firing up “Christmas in Hollis” on YouTube. </p>
<p>A few last minute errands, a run in the rain (miserable), and preparing to head over to daughter’s church (she’s an Episcopal priest) for 5pm church followed by Chinese food and champagne. </p>
<p>Breakfast with my DD at her favorite local greasy spoon. Grocery shopping. Cleaning the house.</p>
<p>At work, but checking CC as I wait for certain things to be wrapped up and delivered to me … then going to my sister’s for Christmas Eve. I work close to where my sister lives, so I’m going over there separately and my family will meet me there. Merry Christmas to those who celebrate!</p>
<p>Finishing up work, then going home and making pirogi and spaghetti for our traditional Christmas Eve dinner. Youngest has invited her new boyfriend to come help, and older sister will come by when she is off work. </p>
<p>D2 home for the holidays- totally enjoying her visit. Took off work not knowing if we would be traveling but here we are. Hanging out, eating, visiting.</p>
<p>Waiting until I absolutely HAVE to wrap presents. Soon to head to two Christmas services to sing my head off.</p>
<p>Sadly, I am at the emergency room with my parents. My mother is being admitted to the hospital. She’s had the flu and her oxygen levels are really low. They can only treat her in the hospital, it seems.</p>
<p>Haven’t even starting wrapping yet, that should take about 2 hours, then heading to prepare for Christmas eve service. D16 and S20 will be preforming a harp/flute duet. There will be a bonfire after service with marshmallows to roast. Then home for Brandy Alexanders and waiting for the kids to crash so H and I can ‘play Santa’</p>
<p>We just took our two kids with us to have dim sum for breakfast and are relaxing around the house before D finishes decorating our tiny tree and then we wrap presents and H smokes a turkey did holiday dinner at sister’s tonite. Tomorrow, big dinner at friend’s house. </p>
<p>Sorry about the weather and health issues folks are suffering. Hope things improve. </p>

<p>DH and I are cleaning the house since DD is coming over tomorrow to stay a couple of days, the first multi-day visit since she got her Masters, moved to her own apartment, and started a job in May/June. We owe this pleasure to her boyfriend visiting his family out of town. I’m also starting Christmas dinner, which has to satisfy her (vegan), DH (vegetarian) and myself (turkey breast). DH and I will go to mass at 10 pm and will probably watch a DVR’s Christmas movie until we fall asleep.</p>
